Assistant Controller - Construction

Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 per year

• Oversee financial operations of entities within the East Division
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and maintain strong financial controls
• Support key initiatives such as M&A,, budgeting, tax, and audit activities
• Ensure accounting practices comply with GAAP and Management Reporting
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts monthly and maintain trial balance
• Prepare monthly journal entries for division entities
• Report on division KPIs such as bookings and backlog
• Support Quick Base and Quick Books Enterprise integration activities with UFT IT
• Partner with Sales Operations and AR Shared Service teams on process and controls
• Complete Vena month‑end close procedures and reviews
• Assist with budgeting and forecasting and ad‑hoc requests
• Support Mergers & Acquisitions within the East Division
• Conduct inventory balance review and annual physical count
• Prepare financials and conduct first review with company management
• Process 1099 vendor payments and prepare audit documentation for UFT external audit
• Provide tax team support for sales tax filings, federal and state income tax returns
• Travel up to 25% within the United States

• At least five years of related experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• Construction, engineering, or distribution experience a plus
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Highly organized with keen attention to detail
• High level of confidentiality
• Strong knowledge of accounting and financial principles and best practices
