Job Summary:

The Controller is responsible for the oversight of the Finance Department and the day-to-day financial needs of Valora Medical Group. This role requires direct partnering with C-Levels to ensure effective and efficient processes are in place to support the current state of the business and its growth expectancy.

The ideal candidate must have the ability to manage and accomplish a multitude of tasks in a fast-paced environment with the skillset to properly prioritize projects based on business needs. Additionally, this individual will have experience in healthcare, specifically the managed care business model.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Plans, organizes and directs general ledger accounting including payroll, accounts payable, billing, service fees, etc.
  • Ensure all accounts payable invoices, expense reports, and corporate credit card payments are accurate and properly paid
  • Manage bi-weekly payroll for a growing organization, with the potential to process off-cycle payrolls as needed.
  • Manage processes for financial forecasting and budgeting and oversee the preparation of financial reporting.
  • Assist C-Levels in developing short-term and long-term business and financial planning
  • Provide timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends to assist the Executive Team in performing their responsibilities
  • Assume a lead role in analyzing and exploring means of employee cost-effective methodologies and increasing revenues based on knowledge of market trends, financial reports, and operating procedures
  • Ensure that effective internal controls are in place and ensure compliance with GAAP and applicable federal, state, and local regulatory laws and rules for financial and tax reporting
  • Assure legal and regulatory financial documents are filed and monitored for legal compliance
  • Continual improvement of the budgeting process through education of department managers on financial issues impacting their budgets.
  • Review and analyze the use of business resources, including personnel, facilities, equipment, records, supplies, and capital to achieve optimal efficiency and effectiveness in all departments/entities.
  • Work with key leaders to prepare forecasting reports for necessary department-related expenses and related audits.
  • Ensure all business activities are conducted in line with company values, policies, ethics, and codes of conduct.
  • Maintain confidentiality in all aspects of client, staff, and company information
  • Other financial duties as required to support business needs
Qualifications/Education
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field;
    Master’s degree preferred
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is highly preferred
  • Computer literate and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PPT) and Quick Books
  • Experience in the healthcare industry preferred, including experience in progressive healthcare finance
  • Must be familiar with the Basic Accounting Principles with the knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, and federal and state laws
