SBA Closing Officer

Position Overview

Do you enjoy getting SBA loans across the finish line cleanly, accurately and on time? We're looking for an experienced SBA Closing Officer to own SBA 7(a) closings from credit approval through funding. You'll prepare and review closing packages, keep every file compliant with the SBA SOP, and serve as the go-to contact for borrowers, brokers, attorneys and title/escrow partners. You'll also work closely with underwriting, credit and servicing so every handoff runs smoothly.

Location

Irving, TX (Dallas market). Hybrid, with set in-office days each week.

Organization Overview

Our client is a nationwide direct Small Business Lending Company (SBLC) dedicated to fueling American entrepreneurship through SBA government-guaranteed financing. Focused primarily on the flagship SBA 7(a) program, they finance commercial real estate acquisitions, business expansions, equipment purchases and partner buyouts. The team pairs the nimbleness and technology of a non-bank lender with strict adherence to SBA standards, in a collaborative, high-energy environment that is growing quickly.

What

You'll Be Working On
  • Loan Closing & Documentation: Close SBA 7(a) loans from credit approval through funding. Review SBA Terms & Conditions, credit memos and closing conditions for accuracy and eligibility. Prepare closing documents including the Note, Guarantees, security instruments, UCC filings, compliance agreements and SBA-required forms. Review settlement statements, escrow instructions and wire requests.
  • Compliance & SOP Adherence: Confirm each loan meets SBA SOP requirements, including use of proceeds, collateral, equity injection, franchise documentation and eligibility. Validate OFAC, flood, environmental and KYC requirements. Verify SBA forms (1919, 1920, 159, 912), financial statement updates and authorization compliance. Make sure all conditions precedent to funding are met and documented.
  • Coordination & Communication: Act as the primary point of contact for borrowers, brokers, attorneys, title/escrow officers, underwriters and internal credit staff. Give all parties clear guidance on requirements, timelines and open items. Coordinate handoffs with Underwriting, Credit, Servicing and Post-Closing.
  • Pipeline Management: Independently manage a steady pipeline of SBA closings of varying complexity. Spot bottlenecks early, elevate risks, and keep files moving so loans close within approval and eligibility time frames.
  • Quality & Continuous Improvement: Support internal audits, SBA reviews and quality-control efforts, contribute ideas for process improvements, and stay current on SBA SOP changes.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of SBA loan closing experience; 7(a) required (504 a plus)
  • Strong working knowledge of the SBA SOP, 7(a) program rules and closing procedures
  • Solid understanding of collateral documentation, title/escrow procedures and legal loan documents
  • Excellent attention to detail, organization and deadline management
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple closings at once with minimal supervision
What's In It For You
  • Competitive Compensation: Base salary of $90,000–$100,000, depending on experience
  • Hybrid

    Schedule:

A mix of in-office and remote days to support work-life balance
  • Comprehensive Benefits: Medical, dental and vision coverage, a company-sponsored 401(k), and paid time off plus paid company holidays
  • Growth & Impact: Join a growing, 7(a)-focused lender where your work directly supports small business owners nationwide
