Summary
Responsible for developing, implementing, and managing comprehensive compensation programs that attract, motivate, and retain top talent across all clinical and non-clinical roles. Ensures compensation practices align with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and organizational goals while supporting competitive pay strategies in a complex health care environment. Manages the compensation team in their day-to-day work.

Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders. - Drives compensation strategy to support talent acquisition, retention, and organizational performance goals.
- Designs, administers, and maintains compensation programs, including salary structures, incentive plans, and bonus programs for clinical and non-clinical staff.
- Manages a team of 3-7 direct reports.
- Conducts job evaluations, salary benchmarking, and market analyses specific to health care roles to ensure competitiveness and equity.
- Collaborates with HR business partners, department leaders, and finance to align compensation strategies with organizational objectives and budget.
- Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to compensation, including wage and hour laws, pay equity, and healthcare-specific labor standards.
- Leads annual salary review processes, including merit increases and promotional adjustments.
- Develops and communicates compensation policies and guidelines across the organization.
- Supports the implementation and management of compensation-related technology and data systems (e.g., HRIS).
- Analyzes compensation data and prepares reports to inform leadership decisions.
- Provides coaching and guidance to managers on compensation best practices and employee discussions.
- Participates in special projects related to workforce planning, retention, and organizational development.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, Finance, or related field required.
- Master’s degree preferred.
- 7 years of compensation experience, including 5 years in a management/leadership role, required.
- Strong experience managing large-scale HR or compensation projects across complex organizations.
- Strong knowledge of healthcare roles, licensure requirements, and industry-specific compensation trends.
- Advanced knowledge of FLSA.
- Proficient in HRIS/compensation systems and tools (e.g., Infor).
- Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and organizational skills.
- Occasional overnight travel.
- Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) strongly preferred.
In accordance with the CHRISTUS Health License, Certification and Registration Verification Policy, all Associates are required to obtain the required certifications for their respective positions within the designated time frame.
