7‑Eleven is looking for a Staff Engineer – Tech Lead to join the Digital Innovation and R&D Team! At 7

• Lead the research, prototyping, and development of software solutions for retail problems.
• Evaluate and grow technical talent throughout R&D, with a focus on subject matter expertise.
• Represent R&D in cross‑functional meetings with other technical teams.
• Stay up to date with emerging technologies and learn new technologies/libraries/frameworks.
• Learn and partner with peers across multiple disciplines, such as computer vision, machine learning, and systems design.
• Deliver on time with a high bar on quality of research, innovation and engineering.

• 5+ years of experience working in a technical role, with 1 to 2 years in a senior technical role.
• 3+ years of experience building apps, digital products, hardware, or machine learning systems.
• Experience with React, Node, Angular, Type Script, and AWS.
• 2+ years of experience reviewing and refining architecture and conducting code reviews.
• 2+ years of experience leading a team of engineers in a technical lead capacity.
• Familiarity with cloud‑based architectures.
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science/Engineering/Math, or relevant experience.

• Experience delivering production quality systems leveraging emerging technologies.
