- Predictive Model Development: Design, implement, and deploy models using statistical and machine learning methods (including time series forecasting) to support underwriting, claims, and pricing strategies.
- Data Pipeline & Automation: Develop and maintain reproducible, scalable data pipelines and automate model monitoring and reporting processes.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with underwriting, claims, actuarial, and analytics teams to align models with business objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Visualization & Communications: Build dashboards and visualizations that translate complex model outputs into actionable insights for decision-makers.
- Model Governance: Ensure proper documentation, version control, and compliance with regulatory and internal standards.
- Innovation & Research: Stay current with industry best practices, new modeling techniques, and emerging technologies to keep Orion
180 at the forefront of predictive analytics.
- Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Statistics, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, or related field.
- 5+ years of predictive modeling experience, ideally within insurance or financial services.
- Proficiency in Python, R, SQL, and machine learning libraries (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, Tensor Flow).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and MLOps frameworks.
- Strong understanding of actuarial principles, pricing methodologies, and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- QGIS, GIS-based modeling, or catastrophe modeling experience is a plus.
