Caterpillar Defense has an opening for an IT Analyst Applications
. In this role, you will contribute to the IT function by supporting the development, testing, and implementation of application systems. You will be responsible for managing the Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC) process and ensuring the organization’s compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) cybersecurity standards, including NIST 800-171, as well as relevant FAR and DFARS requirements.

What You Will Do:
  • Participates in IT functions like developing, coding and testing computer programs.
  • Assist in preparing technical and procedural documentation.
  • Assist with detailed flowcharts to show processing logic for simple application programs.
  • Participate in contributing solutions for programming system operations, including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting programs.
  • Install and monitor CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) applications to ensure compliance with Department of Defense cybersecurity standards.
  • Serve as the application owner for CMMC-related systems, overseeing their operational integrity and performance.
  • Act as a liaison between Defense users of Gov Cloud and IT engineers, facilitating communication and ensuring user requirements are addressed effectively.
What

You Will Have:

Core Application Systems: Knowledge of major production application systems used for delivery of services to internal and external clients; ability to leverage major production application systems in diverse situations.

  • Describes basic elements and benefits of core applications supported by own area.
  • Names the organization’s core application systems.
  • Names major business functions and services supported by core applications.
  • Locates and uses relevant documentation for core applications.
  • Includes understanding and monitoring of CMMC (Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification) requirements to ensure core applications meet DoD cybersecurity compliance standards.
Problem Solving

Knowledge of approaches, tools, techniques for recognizing, anticipating, and resolving organizational, operational or process problems; ability to apply knowledge of problem solving appropriately to diverse situations.

  • Explains the value of a disciplined approach to problem solving.
  • Describes problem reporting and escalation practices.
  • Utilizes accepted procedures for problem analysis and resolution.
  • Demonstrates understanding of CMMC requirements and the ability to analyze and resolve issues related to databases supporting government contracts, ensuring compliance and data integrity.
