VMware​/VCF Migration Engineer

We are seeking a VMware / VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF) Migration Engineer to provide source-platform expertise and resolve VMware access, compatibility, snapshot, and data-transfer prerequisites that may prevent successful VM migration. The engineer will support migration readiness, execution, cutover, rollback, and source-platform decommissioning activities.

• Validate vCenter and ESXi access, certificates, privileges, and connectivity.
• Assess VMware source environments for migration readiness.
• Validate VDDK and CBT readiness and VM hardware compatibility.
• Review snapshots, VM configuration, and data-transfer prerequisites.
• Troubleshoot provider discovery and migration data-transfer issues.
• Identify and resolve source-platform blockers affecting MTV migrations.
• Coordinate with VMware and Open Shift teams during migration execution.
• Support cutover, rollback, post-migration validation, and source-platform handoff.
• Document compatibility issues, technical dependencies, and remediation activities.
• Participate in source-platform decommissioning and migration closure activities.

• Strong experience with VMware vCenter and ESXi.
• Knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation (VCF).
• Experience with VM hardware and guest configuration.
• Hands-on understanding of VDDK and Changed Block Tracking (CBT).
• Knowledge of VM snapshots and data-transfer mechanisms.
• Familiarity with vSphere APIs and VMware certificates and access privileges.
• Strong troubleshooting skills for VMware infrastructure and VM migration issues.
• Understanding of VMware-to-KVM or VMware-to-Open Shift migration processes.
