OUR TEAM AS AN ACTUARIAL ANALYST!

As an Actuarial Analyst, you will play a key role in supporting Orion
180’s continued growth and success by contributing to the pricing, reserving, and analytical foundations of our insurance products. You will collaborate across teams, including Claims, Finance, and Sales to develop insights that influence strategic decisions and ensure financial soundness. WHAT YOU’LL DO:
  • Support the actuarial function to achieve business objectives and performance goals.
  • Partner with portfolio managers to evaluate and manage financial results across Orion
    180’s product portfolio.
  • Perform quarterly and ad‑hoc reserve studies, including monthly tracking of reserve and claim development.
  • Collaborate with the Claims department to understand reserving and settlement practices and their impact on loss reserves and IBNR.
  • Communicate complex actuarial analyses and findings to non‑technical stakeholders, including executives and other internal teams.
  • Assisting the development of pricing models, reserving methodologies, and analytical reports that drive data‑driven decisions.
  • Support regulatory filings, reinsurance presentations, and audit documentation as needed.
WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

Education:

• Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field required.

Industry

Experience:

• Minimum 1 year of actuarial work experience in Property & Casualty insurance required; reserving experience strongly preferred.

• Experience communicating technical analyses to non‑technical audiences both verbally and in writing.

Technical Proficiency:

• Strong Excel skills required.

• Proficiency with SQL; familiarity with R or Python is a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

While performing general office duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, and walk (including the use of stairs). Other demands include the ability to openly communicate with others by talking, listening, and reading, lift light objects (less than 25 lbs), and use standard office equipment such as computers, printers, and phones. Occasional bending, twisting, or reaching may be required.
