Job Overview

Murphy-Hoffman Company, LLC is North America’s largest Kenworth truck Dealership and Leasing group. As MHC continues to grow, we have an opening for a Branch Manager. The role of the Branch Manager is to be responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of the Branch’s operations in compliance with established policies and procedures. The Branch Manager plans, directs, and controls all activities of the branch profit centers through department managers who, in turn, are responsible for the overall growth and profit objectives of their respective departments.

The Branch Manager staffs and trains department managers as required, formulates major objectives, specific policies, plans, procedures, and programs for branch operations, works closely with department managers to convert broad programs to specific plans, provides assistance in the development of performance targets, and evaluates operating results against predetermined objectives.

Responsibilities
  • Assess present and future needs, trends, problems, and profit opportunities of the branch.
  • Establish short and long‑term operating and financial objectives for the assigned branch within the Company’s overall plans and policies.
  • Ensure that approved policies and objectives are clearly understood and effectively applied throughout the assigned branch.
  • Formulate annual and monthly business plans, sales/profit objectives, and expense budgets with the department manager in accordance with Company objectives.
  • Develop merchandising strategies with the department managers to ensure objectives are obtained; supervise sale of trucks, parts, and service.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
  • Maintain appropriate communications within and between departments and functional areas; hold individual conferences as required.
  • Establish and maintain satisfactory customer and public relations; act as final arbitrator between customers and department managers when needed.
  • Develop, train, review, and appraise department managers; recommend compensation changes in accordance with company policy; ensure the organizational structure is efficiently staffed.
  • Promote safe work habits and ensure safety rules are followed.
Safety‑Sensitive Position

This position has been designated as a safety‑sensitive position. Any person performing the position while under the influence of marijuana or any other illegal drug may constitute a threat to health or safety or result in injury, illness, or death. Duties may include operating, repairing, maintaining, or monitoring heavy equipment, machinery, aircraft, motorized watercraft, or motor vehicles, or handling hazardous materials and/or waste.

Qualifications
  • Previous management experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all phases of branch operations.
  • Prefer direct truck sales experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong leadership ability and decision‑making skills.
