Project Manager – Houston, TX

Siemens Logistics is searching for a Project Manager to strengthen our Houston team. This position reports to the acting Regional Director for this region and leads the development and support of project/program plans. The individual participates in the organizationally planned program and works with teams to define schedule, budget, risk, change, opportunity and resource management activities. Continuous improvement activities are created and executed throughout the project life.

The role independently performs important areas of standard professional level work that typically require processing and interrupting complex, less clearly defined issues, identifying and resolving readily identifiable, clearly defined problems. Supports all Airport Logistic projects to ensure adherence to PM@Siemens policies and guidelines. You will be the interface to our clients and consultants in all project and site related topics.

• Supports the overall management of contractual relationships, design, manufacturing, subcontractors and installation of baggage handling systems.
• Preempts potential problems and provides effective solutions in reaction to application of concepts, techniques, knowledge, or processes.
• Executes all aspects of change management throughout the course of the projects and reassesses the resource requirements.
• Demonstrates a working knowledge in multiple disciplines to the successful completion of complex assignments.
• Understands airport operations and can speak to how baggage systems operate to any and all stakeholders – internal corporate management, airlines, general contractors, local government, etc.
• Attends project coordination meetings with consultants, general contractors, architects and clients.
• Demonstrates knowledge of organization’s business practices and issues faced and contributes to problem resolution of those issues.
• Manages the on‑site project execution team.

• BS Degree in a related discipline, or an advanced degree where required, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Certification may be required in some areas.
• Demonstrates a good grasp of knowledge and principles of the field of specialization and applies them through successful completion of assignments.
• Experience in material handling systems and technical knowledge in mechanical design or controls is preferred.
• Domestic travel up to 20% of the time.
• Typically 5-8 years of successful experience in a related field and successful demonstration of the key responsibilities and knowledge as presented above.

• The starting pay range for this position is $100,603 - $172,462, the wage offered depends on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
