Groundskeeper, Maintenance Technician / Mechanic
Overview
The City of Irving Parks and Recreation Department is seeking applicants for a parks maintenance role. Duties include maintaining city parks, corridors and/or athletic fields; performing assigned tasks such as mowing, edging and working in flower beds; handling turf maintenance and athletic field preparation; and picking up litter and cleaning restrooms. Duties may also include performing general repairs and basic maintenance of parks structures;
and assisting with irrigation system maintenance and chemical application. Duties will require operating various types of equipment, e.g. walk-behind mowers, riding mowers, tractors, ATVs, backpack blowers, string trimmers and edgers. Six months of related experience is required. Work days and scheduled hours may vary.

- Perform general repairs and basic maintenance of parks structures; assist with irrigation system maintenance and chemical application.
- Operate equipment including walk-behind mowers, riding mowers, tractors, ATVs, backpack blowers, string trimmers and edgers.
- Read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance; possess, or be able to obtain, a valid Class C Texas driver’s license; commercial driver’s license (CDL) is beneficial.

PAY GRADE GG 10 / FULL PAY RANGE $17.60 - $24.81 PER HOUR
