Mexican Sugar is a Pan-Latin restaurant offering refined dishes that are bold in flavor and elegant in presentation. Everything is made from scratch with authentic ingredients and traditional cooking methods.
The General Manager leads with strategic thinking, coaching, and development to drive top and bottom-line results while cultivating a high-performing team and a luxurious guest experience.
Responsibilities- Business Strategist — Create, present, and adjust yearly and quarterly operating plans to reflect current sales climate and restaurant performance.
- Drive top-line sales by delivering stellar experiences, strategic and community partnerships, and leadership throughout the restaurant.
- Control costs by managing controllable expenses and creating systems that enable others to manage them effectively.
- Ensure proper labor management through accurate sales forecasting and weekly department scheduling reviews.
- Maintain a safe, well-kept restaurant that is pristine for guests and efficient behind the scenes.
- Experience Curator — Partner with the Chef de Cuisine to deliver a scratch menu for everyday dining and events.
- Ensure quality ingredients are used and recipes are executed flawlessly.
- Lead the Bar Manager in curating a small-batch craft cocktail and Tequila program and a best-in-class bar.
- Partner with FB Experiences and FB Society leaders to create new experiences that drive sales.
- Craft unique dining experiences through proactive, guest-focused service.
- People Champion — Hire, train, and retain the best talent in the industry.
- Ensure team members have the knowledge, tools, and resources to succeed.
- Execute onboarding and orientation for all new team members and managers.
- Foster a smooth, luxurious culture that attracts top talent and empowers performance.
- Maintain high standards through fair, consistent coaching and feedback.
- Leadership Guru — Develop team ownership of Areas of Responsibility (AOR) and set shift performance standards.
- Oversee AOR distribution and execution, celebrate wins, and adjust results as needed.
- Lead manager meetings with updates on sales and financials, wins, and opportunities.
- Hold regular one-on-ones with managers to review results and progress toward goals.
- Develop internal talent with a proactive mindset for growth and brand expansion.
- 3–5+ years of restaurant management experience in a high-volume, full-service environment.
- Passion for hospitality; results-driven, trustworthy, and team-oriented.
- Food Manager Certification.
- Bachelor's Degree or certification in Hospitality or Culinary field is preferred.
