Full-Time Retail Sales Associate

We are seeking a dedicated full-time Retail Sales Associate to join our team at First Cash pawn store locations nationwide. The Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate partners with the store team to ensure customer service on both lending and retail sides of the business. The role greets, engages, and assists customers with sales, loans, and other transactions, and collaborates with coworkers to provide a positive and memorable customer experience.

The position involves working with a variety of jewelry and general merchandise, including tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), and more.

Compensation

Hourly wage: $10.00 to $14.00 per hour. Earned commission is available for performance, with potential to earn 2%-8% commission based on personal gross profit, in addition to the hourly base pay. The description notes that associates can earn UP TO 8% on transactions, which could average an additional $1.20 per hour on top of the base rate.

Position Summary

The Full-Time Pawnbroker / Retail Sales Associate supports both lending and retail operations, greeting customers, processing sales and loans, answering inquiries, and resolving problems. The role involves engaging with customers and handling various merchandise, including jewelry, tools, electronics, and firearms where applicable.

Responsibilities

• Greet and engage customers to develop rapport and offer appropriate financial solutions.
• Perform open/close procedures (non-management).
• Keep the sales floor clean, stocked, and displays well maintained.
• Process sales and loan transactions in accordance with policies and regulatory requirements.
• Handle cash and negotiable items per policies and procedures.
• Answer incoming calls per company standards.
• Explain the legal aspects of pawn and buy transactions to customers.
• Communicate effectively with coworkers and managers; maintain a respectful team environment.
• Collaborate with staff to create a positive customer experience.
• Complete assigned training successfully.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications

• Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to perform duties for extended periods (standing, walking, climbing, etc.) as required by law.
• Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
• May assist customers outside the building or retrieve products stored in exterior storage areas.
• Minimum Age: 18 years old.
• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
• Strong desire to serve customers, work with people, and be team-oriented.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to perform basic math calculations.
• Cash handling experience is preferred.
• Flexibility to work at multiple locations as needed.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
• Computer literate and able to operate POS systems.

Commission Plan Information

The employee commission incentive plan is proprietary. Pawnbrokers have the potential to earn 2-8% commission based on personal gross profit. Additional details are provided during the interview process.
