Commercial HVAC Estimator – Project and Proposal Specialist

Are you skilled at managing project estimates and preparing competitive proposals? Join us as a Commercial HVAC Estimator and play a key role in supporting sales and project success.

This position focuses on reviewing construction plans and specifications, performing quantity takeoffs, and preparing detailed proposals to support the sales team. You will analyze project schedules and technical documents to ensure compliance and accuracy, while managing administrative tasks related to project management and order processing.

  Minimal (1% - occasional overnight travel for training)
• Salary Range: 50k to 65K DOE - plus commission

• Review plans and specifications to prepare accurate quotes and estimates.
• Analyze construction processes, schedules, and technical documents to ensure compliance with project requirements.
• Support Outside Sales Engineers by assisting with equipment product selections and value engineering options.
• Enter customer and product information into company systems with a high degree of accuracy.
• Provide pricing and product information to internal teams and customers.
• Communicate daily with internal team members and vendors; limited external customer contact.
• Use computer-based pricing and selection tools to prepare bids and proposals.
• Perform administrative tasks related to project management, including order processing and documentation.
• Maintain a professional customer service demeanor while balancing multiple deadlines.

• High School Diploma or GED required; technical/industrial training beyond high school preferred.
• 3 Years' HVAC Estimator experience or 3 Years Commercial HVAC Technician or combination.
• Strong math, critical thinking, and analytical skills.
• Basic understanding of HVAC mechanical equipment and concepts preferred.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office applications; ability to learn new programs and tools.
• Highly detail-oriented with excellent accuracy in work.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple bid deadlines independently.
• Professional communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time.
• Regular movement throughout the office to access files, equipment, and supplies.
• Frequent use of office equipment, including computers, calculators, copiers, phones, and printers.
• Repetitive hand and finger movements required for computer use.
• Noise level ranges from low to moderate.
