As a Journeyman Electrician, you will manage the upkeep, repair, troubleshooting, and setup of commercial and industrial electrical frameworks. Your role involves supervising the full scope of electrical infrastructure, such as managing conduit routing, wire pulling, equipment terminations, and distribution systems. It is essential that you maintain high standards of efficiency and safety while ensuring every project aligns with company protocols and relevant electrical codes.
Core Duties
- Strategize and supervise the layout of electrical pipe and conduit paths.
- Construct, bend, and fasten various conduit types, including PVC, rigid, and EMT.
- Execute the pulling, identification, and termination of electrical cables and wires.
- Support the reliability of electrical distribution by installing and servicing transformers, switch gear, and motor controls.
- Manage diverse electrical systems, spanning from 120V branch circuits to 480V three-phase setups.
- Maintain and install essential components like panels, breakers, disconnects, receptacles, and lighting fixtures.
- Identify and resolve electrical malfunctions and power distribution failures to minimize downtime.
- Analyze and utilize blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical specifications to guide your work.
- Verify system integrity by performing commissioning, testing, and equipment startups.
- Uphold strict adherence to safety mandates, NEC guidelines, and internal company policies.
- Collaborate effectively with project teams, maintenance staff, and contractors to finalize upgrades and installations.
- Mentor and guide apprentice helpers to support the overall productivity of the team.
- Utilize company-supplied equipment like pipe stands, cutters, and benders, while maintaining your own personal tool set.
Qualifications
- Possession of an OSHA 10 certification.
- Must hold a valid electrical license.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Comfortable working in confined spaces or at elevated heights using lifts and ladders.
