Lead Software Developer

Location : Onsite in Irving, TX

Duration : Full-Time / Permanent

Rate Range : $120,000 – $140,000 annual salary (based on experience)

Apex Systems is seeking a Lead Software Developer on behalf of a forward-thinking insurance technology partner. This is a fully onsite role based in Irving, TX. The ideal candidate is a hands-on developer with strong leadership skills, deep experience in web application development, and a passion for mentoring others. You’ll play a key role in building scalable applications, guiding technical decisions, and contributing to a collaborative Agile team.

• Develop efficient, testable, and maintainable code aligned with project goals
• Build RESTful services using C# and .NET Core
• Write and optimize Linq and SQL queries for performance and data integrity
• Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to meet sprint commitments
• Mentor junior developers and foster a collaborative learning environment
• Serve as a hands-on subject matter expert in software development
• Participate in sprint planning, reviews, and technical discussions
• Document requirements and specifications clearly and effectively

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field
• 7+ years of experience in web application development
• Proficiency in C#, .NET Core, Linq, and Entity Framework
• Strong SQL and relational database skills
• Familiarity with at least one modern web framework
• Excellent documentation and communication skills
• Proven ability to lead and collaborate effectively with team members

• Experience with front-end technologies like and Bootstrap
• Prior experience in the insurance or financial services industry
• Passion for mentoring and team development
• Ability to thrive in a structured, deadline-driven environment
