Description:

We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Java Spark Lead Developer to join our dynamic data engineering team. The ideal candidate will be a hands-on technical leader responsible for the design, development, testing and deployment of scalable big data applications and data pipelines using Java and Apache Spark. This role requires strong expertise in Spark-based data processing, Java backend development and big data technologies along with the ability to work independently, troubleshoot complex issues and mentor developers.

Responsibilities:

Lead the technical design, development and implementation of big data processing solutions using Apache Spark and Java.

Design and develop scalable data pipelines and ETL workflows using Spark and Hadoop ecosystem tools.

Develop RESTful APIs using Spring Boot to support data services and integration requirements.

Work closely with Business Analysts and stakeholders to understand functional and technical requirements.

Perform end-to-end development including design, coding, testing, and deployment of application.

Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues related to Spark jobs and data pipelines.

Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to coding standards and best practices.

Optimize Spark jobs for performance, scalability and reliability.

Mentor junior and intermediate developers and provide technical guidance and support.

Participate in Agile development processes including sprint planning and reviews.
7+ years of professional experience in software development with at least 3 years of experience as a technical lead in Java/Spark-based applications.

Strong experience with Apache Spark for large-scale data processing.

Proficiency in SQL and experience working with relational databases such as Oracle.

Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, Git Lab CI).Familiarity with job scheduling and automation tools such as Autosys.

Proven ability to lead technical projects, make critical design decisions and mentor team members effectively.

Strong problem-solving, analytical and debugging skills.
