Description

TAS Environmental Services, LP is a provider of emergency response services, environmental solutions and hazardous waste transportation throughout the South and Midwest. As a Driver Operator you will be responsible for safely operating commercial vehicles and specialized equipment, ensuring cargo is loaded and unloaded correctly, managing paperwork, performing inspections and maintaining vehicle condition. The role requires a willingness to work in a physically demanding environment and to handle strenuous labor.

Responsibilities
  • Operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently, following traffic laws and regulations, and hours‑of‑service requirements.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring it is properly secured, and manage paperwork related to shipments.
  • Collect delivery instructions from dispatcher, verify instructions and routes.
  • Perform pre‑trip and post‑trip inspections, report maintenance issues, and perform routine maintenance tasks.
  • Communicate with dispatchers and customers, maintain accurate trip logs, and document deliveries.
  • Adhere to all applicable laws, regulations, and company policies.
  • Transport non‑hazardous and hazardous materials in accordance with applicable guidelines, DOT, and company safety procedures.
  • Perform industrial work and biohazard cleanups.
  • Assist in removing soil, debris, and cleaning spill sites.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements
  • CDL Class A License
  • Hazmat Endorsement
  • Tanker Endorsement
  • Ability to read, write, and do mathematics.
Physical / Mental Requirements
  • Must talk and hear regularly.
  • Requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing at times.
  • Frequent lifting or moving items up to 60 pounds.
  • Must frequently climb stairs and ladders; may occasionally deal with heights.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including respiratory protection.
  • Work involves both office and physical job sites; may require confined space work.
  • Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution, and communication skills.
