Job Summary This position is responsible for maintaining equipment in the facility, troubleshooting and replacing equipment parts as needed to support beverage packaging and process operations.
Duties And Responsibilities- Work in a team or autonomously completing work orders and provide maintenance support in a high-speed manufacturing environment.
- Perform set-up, adjustment, timing, troubleshooting, and replacement of mechanical equipment.
- Contributes to a safe workplace by performing all tasks in accordance with NFPA
70E, OSHA, EPA, FDA, Lock Out/Tag Out/Try Out safety rules, codes, policies and regulations and Confined Entry policies. - Work to reduce unplanned downtime through effective troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment, disassembling and reassembling of machinery, overhauling gearboxes, pumps and motors, and replacing bearings, bushings, etc. to ensure confirmation of specifications or production requirements
- Perform mechanical work such as major equipment overhauls, motor/gearbox replacements, valve and pump maintenance, and lubrication routes.
- Perform quality, maintenance, and housekeeping checks and record results in automated computer system programs.
- Interpret schematics and equipment manuals.
- Adhere to plant safety and sanitation requirements;
Complete assigned work efficiently and per SOPs. - Be part of an effective work planning process that utilizes work orders, planners, and part staging.
- Assist with process improvement and initiate change.
- Analyze knowledge & process data and make decisions on equipment maintenance and improvement activities.
- High School Diploma or GED, required
- Must be 18 years old
- Unlimited Steam License, preferred
- Basic skills in Microsoft Office Suite and internet use
- Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures (e.g. lock out/tag out, confined space)
- Ability to read blueprints
- Ability to perform welding (Stick, TIG, MIG)
- Knowledge of machining tools including lathes, mills, presses, and grinders
- Demonstrated skills in hydraulic/pneumatic systems, pumps, alignment tools
- Ability to rebuild and repair gearboxes, pumps, and other manufacturing equipment
- Ability to troubleshoot problems, identify root causes and propose remedies
- Highly motivated, self-directed, able to work autonomously in a fast-paced food production environment
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team
- Electrical troubleshooting experience in high-speed packaging or highly automated continuous process environment preferred
