Contract Librarian

Contract Librarian in Isa Town, Bahrain

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Contract Librarian to join our team in Isa Town, Bahrain. As a Contract Librarian, you will be responsible for managing the daily operations of our library, including cataloging and organizing materials, assisting patrons with research and finding resources, and maintaining a welcoming and organized environment for all visitors.

• Manage the library's collection of books, periodicals, and other materials
• Catalog new materials using standardized classification systems
• Organize and maintain materials on shelves according to established systems
• Assist patrons with finding resources and conducting research
• Create displays and promote library events to increase patron engagement
• Monitor library usage and make recommendations for improving services
• Maintain accurate records of library transactions and generate reports as needed
• Collaborate with other librarians to develop new programs and services for the community

• Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field (Master's degree preferred)
• Proven experience working in a library setting (experience in academic or special libraries is a plus)
• Strong knowledge of cataloging systems such as Dewey Decimal Classification or Library of Congress Classification
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficiency with computer systems and software used in libraries
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively with others
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

This is a contract position with a salary of 1700$ per month. Accommodation will be provided for the duration of the contract.
