Part-Time Librarian
We are hiring a Part-Time Librarian to join our library team in Isa Town. As a part-time librarian, you will be responsible for assisting with day-to-day operations of the library, including organising and maintaining the collection, helping patrons find materials, and providing reference and research assistance. This position is ideal for someone with a passion for books and knowledge, and who is looking for a flexible work schedule.
Responsibilities- Assist with circulation services, including checking materials in and out
- Organize and maintain the library's physical collection
- Help patrons locate materials using the library's online catalog system
- Provide reference and research assistance to patrons
- Assist with collection development by selecting new materials to add to the library's collection
- Plan and implement library programs and events for all ages
- Maintain accurate records of library usage statistics
- Stay updated on current trends in literature, technology, and library services
- Bachelor's degree in Library Science or related field preferred
- Previous experience working in a library setting is required
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Knowledge of library classification systems, online catalog systems, and research databases
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
