Position: Senior Marketing Operations Lead  (12 - months FTC)

Overview

This role provides senior strategic leadership and continuity for Marketing Operations across Sky Business during a period of maternity leave. The focus is on setting direction and shaping the marketing operations roadmap, ensuring marketing capability is designed, governed and evolved to support long‑term business objectives. The role acts as a strategic partner to Marketing, Digital and Commercial teams, guiding future state capability across channels, platforms and customer journeys, and ensuring decisions are informed by architectural thinking, regulatory requirements and a clear understanding of how marketing effectiveness can be enhanced over time.

With accountability for people leadership, roadmap direction and capability governance, the role ensures Marketing Operations remains a proactive, strategic function that enables consistency, insight and growth across the business.

Responsibilities
  • Lead Marketing Operations – manage FTEs and agency partners to deliver scalable, compliant marketing capability across Sky Business.
  • Own strategy & roadmap – define and prioritise the Marketing Operations roadmap with stakeholders, balancing value, risk, regulatory needs and delivery capacity.
  • Translate strategy into execution – act as senior partner to Marketing, ope rationalising plans across lead management, lifecycle journeys and channel delivery.
  • Govern compliance & platforms – own GDPR/PECR preference management and oversee marketing automation platforms, ensuring alignment with strategy and governance.
  • Drive end‑to‑end lead & data capability – partner with Sales Ops, Tech and Data to optimise lead management (scoring, attribution, reporting) and evolve CRM/data models, enabling a single source of truth and future capability.
  • Deliver performance & commercial impact – own reporting and insight (funnel, attribution, campaigns), sponsor new capabilities, and manage budgets, suppliers and contracts to ensure value and risk control.
Qualifications
  • Senior strategic leadership – extensive experience shaping Marketing Operations/Mar Tech strategy in complex B2B or regulated environments, with accountability for direction‑setting.
  • People & transformation leadership – proven track record leading multi‑disciplinary teams and agencies through change, ambiguity and competing priorities.
  • Platform expertise (Salesforce & automation) – strong knowledge of Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud and automation tools; able to set platform direction, govern usage and influence roadmap decisions.
  • Lead management & attribution design – experience defining and evolving multi‑channel lead lifecycle, scoring and attribution models to drive performance and future‑state design.
  • Compliance & data strategy – deep understanding of GDPR, PECR and consent frameworks, embedding privacy‑by‑design into data models and operating practices.
  • Strategic design & stakeholder influence – strong analytical and operating model design capability, with the ability to shape end‑to‑end architecture, challenge stakeholders and balance long‑term vision with near‑term delivery.

How you'll work

We've adopted a hybrid working approach to give more flexibility on where and how we work. The hybrid working expectations for this role are 3 days in the office per week.

Your office base

Osterley – our Sky Group HQ. Equipped with state‑of‑the‑art technology and work spaces, there's plenty of space to see your big ideas come to life. The campus is just a 10‑minute walk from Syon Lane train station, or you can take a free shuttle bus from Osterley, Gunnersbury and Ealing Broadway stations.
