SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant - Sports Graduate - Islington

Full-Time
Daily Rate: £104 - £110

Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Islington, London. We welcome applications from recent sports graduates who are passionate about making a difference for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will support students both academically and emotionally, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment where every child can thrive. Your background in sports is a bonus, bringing energy, teamwork, and engagement to your interactions with students.

Key Requirements

Graduate in Sports or related field (recent graduates encouraged)
Passionate about working with SEND / SEMH learners
Experience supporting children or young people in education or care settings is desirable but not essential
Confident in assisting students with learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing
Willing to provide personal care when required

Job Responsibilities

Supporting SEND / SEMH students individually and in small groups
Assisting teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
Encouraging student participation, engagement, and independence
Supervising children both inside and outside the classroom
Contributing positively to students' social, emotional, and academic development
