Empowering Learning Ltd is seeking a dedicated SEND / SEMH Teaching Assistant to join a supportive school in Islington, London. We welcome applications from recent sports graduates who are passionate about making a difference for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

You will support students both academically and emotionally, helping to create a safe, inclusive, and encouraging learning environment where every child can thrive. Your background in sports is a bonus, bringing energy, teamwork, and engagement to your interactions with students.

Key Requirements

• Graduate in Sports or related field (recent graduates encouraged)
• Passionate about working with SEND / SEMH learners
• Experience supporting children or young people in education or care settings is desirable but not essential
• Confident in assisting students with learning, social development, and emotional wellbeing
• Willing to provide personal care when required

Job Responsibilities

• Supporting SEND / SEMH students individually and in small groups
• Assisting teachers with lesson planning, preparation, and delivery
• Encouraging student participation, engagement, and independence
• Supervising children both inside and outside the classroom
• Contributing positively to students' social, emotional, and academic development
