Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant – Special Primary School

A highly regarded special school located in the Holloway area is seeking an experienced and committed Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

The Role You will work with a class of secondary-aged learners with SEN, supporting their academic, social and emotional development within a mainstream classroom environment.

This role requires confidence, initiative and a proactive approach to behaviour support.

The Successful Candidate Will:
Have at least 6 months of classroom experience in a similar setting
Demonstrate strong experience supporting early learners and pre-verbal pupils
Be confident managing and de-escalating challenging behaviour
Show a consistent track record of positive outcomes for children with additional needs
Be a passionate advocate for inclusion within mainstream education
Remain calm, patient and solution-focused under pressure

Key Responsibilities:

Providing consistent 1:1 and group support for learners with SEN
Safeguarding pupils and promoting their wellbeing at all times
Monitoring and managing behaviour in line with school policy and individual IEPs
Anticipating triggers and proactively facilitating movement or sensory breaks
Delivering differentiated learning activities as directed by the class teacher
Supporting the wider classroom as required
