The successful candidate will be passionate about English and able to inspire students across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5, fostering a love of reading, writing and communication while helping students develop the analytical, critical thinking and literacy skills needed to succeed both academically and beyond the classroom.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
Have a proven track record of delivering strong outcomes in English.
Be confident teaching English Language and Literature across KS3, KS4 and KS5.
Deliver engaging and challenging lessons that inspire students.
Demonstrate excellent classroom and behaviour management skills.
Be committed to raising attainment for learners of all abilities.
Have experience supporting students with SEN, SEMH, behavioural, or additional learning needs.
Be passionate about making English accessible, engaging and relevant for all students.
Be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
Experience, Training and Qualifications
QTS, QTLS, PGCE or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
Experience teaching English within a UK secondary school.
Strong subject knowledge across the English curriculum, including English Language and Literature at GCSE and A-Level.
A clear understanding of adaptive teaching and inclusive classroom practice.
Up-to-date safeguarding training (desirable but not essential).To Be Eligible for This Role Through Prospero Teaching, You Must:
Be willing to register with Prospero Teaching and complete all compliance procedures.
Hold the Right to Work in the UK.
Hold an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service or be willing to obtain one.
Provide two professional references covering the last two years.
