Contract Type:
Interim
Working Pattern:
Resident-facing, onsite daily
About the Role:
We are seeking a confident, customer-focused Neighbourhood Response Officer to help deliver safe, secure, and attractive neighbourhoods where residents want to live.
You will understand local needs and work collaboratively with other teams, residents' groups, and external partners, ensuring estates are clean, safe, and well maintained, and that improvements are identified, planned, and delivered. You will also investigate breaches of tenancy, support more vulnerable customers, and ensure that anti-social behaviour is addressed and prevented.
Key Responsibilities:
* Develop and deliver neighbourhood plans and local offers.
* Deliver a programme of regular estate inspections, prioritising fire safety risk assessment follow-up work.
* Work with local residents' groups to develop community facilities, activities, and events.
* Work collaboratively with local partners such as safer neighbourhood teams, the voluntary sector, and youth services on neighbourhood safety and ASB issues.
* Liaise with other departments on neighbourhood improvements and services.
* Visit customers in breach of their tenancy or lease agreement where tasked to do so.
* Visit customers who may require additional support and assess whether they need ongoing tenancy sustainment.
* Conduct viewings, sign-ups, and tenancy assignments.
* Attend court to represent the organisation and/or provide witness statements as required.
* Conduct evictions and attend stay hearings.
* Carry out property condition checks for mutual exchanges, notice periods, or planned visits.
* Assist with major incidents and the decanting of tenants.
What You'll Need:
* Experience of providing good customer service and dealing with customers in person.
* Experience of working with external partners and working to plans and targets.
* The ability to exercise good judgement and find proactive, creative solutions.
* Confident and resilient, with a positive mindset and the ability to work alone.
* Excellent communication skills, adaptable to different audiences.
* Ability to develop effective working relationships with colleagues and external agencies, and to robustly challenge teams delivering local services.
* IT literate, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
* A clear commitment to equality and diversity principles and practices.
* Full driving licence with use of own vehicle (essential).
* Willingness to respond at short notice in the event of a major incident.
* Able to work early evenings and occasional weekends if required.
