Experteer Overview In this role, you help steer radioactive waste management for JRC's decommissioning programme across European sites. You work within a cross‑functional JV to develop and implement waste strategies, ensuring regulatory alignment and safe, compliant operations. You will support technical documentation, data management, and interfaces with decommissioning, protection, and licensing teams. Retribuzione / Benefits Develop and implement radioactive waste management strategies (classification, characterization, inventory management)
Coordinate waste retrieval, treatment, conditioning operations and assess facilities and processes
Review and update waste management procedures and systems
Prepare and review technical documentation (waste plans, WAC, inventory reports)
Maintain and verify waste inventories; support waste information systems and reporting tools
Coordinate interfaces with decommissioning, radiation protection, licensing, and regulatory teams
Ensure compliance with national and European regulations and site licence conditions
Contribute to programme governance and KPI tracking, risk/issue management
Provide client‑facing technical support to JRC and coordinate with JV partners and subcontractors
Operate within a multi‑stakeholder environment to support waste flows and regulatory compliance
ResponsabilitàExperience in radioactive waste management or related nuclear field
Experience in regulated environments
Knowledge of waste classification, characterization, treatment, conditioning, storage and disposal routes
Understanding of regulatory frameworks for radioactive waste management
Familiarity with waste management systems in nuclear facilities
Ability to contribute to technical documentation and reporting
Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
Relevant degree (engineering, environmental science, nuclear science or related discipline) or equivalent experience
Ability to work full‑time on‑site in Ispra, Lombardy (Italy)
English language proficiency (minimum B2 level)
