Working as a Site Manager, you will provide on-site coordination for all phases of the construction project. You will be responsible for budget, schedule, subcontractors, inspections, quality control and job site safety.

Responsibilities
  • Takes ownership of all aspects of the field activities from start up to completion on their projects, including project safety, quality, schedule, planning, jobsite logistics, leading the on-site management team, subcontractor coordination and risk assessment.
  • Maintains and tracks overall project schedule and creates/maintains a 2–3 week lookahead. Uses the schedule as a management tool to deliver the project on time.
  • Provides real-time data to PM/Scheduler for schedule maintenance.
  • Ensures Site Safety requirements are met at all times, including personnel and jobsite standards; assists on-site safety personnel, can stop work when infractions are found, and counsels subcontractors and team members when violations occur.
  • Trains project team members on Gray software such as CMO, Navisworks, Bluebeam, Concur, E-Time and GoGray.
  • Conducts site and weekly meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities and ensure teams work cooperatively with the project schedule.
  • Produces monthly project reports tracking safety, schedule, subcontractor performance, quality, budget and customer relations.
  • Collaborates with the PM team to ensure timely buyout of subcontracts and procurement schedule alignment with the project schedule.
  • Leads, teaches, coaches and trains subordinates on professional contractual relationships with all project parties.
  • Establishes and maintains a jobsite safety culture in accordance with Gray’s safety program; leads by example and holds the site team accountable to Gray policies and procedures.
  • Facilitates team growth through mentoring;
  • Sets up and closes out construction sites; walks the project daily to verify work is completed safely, meets quality standards, and adheres to schedule.
  • Communicates early and often with the project team (PM, design manager, customer, site team, subs, field ops, etc.) with factual information.
  • Conducts required meetings to coordinate subcontractor activities on site.
  • Reviews all drawings (shop, architectural, structural, etc.) when issued to the field and maintains a current set.
  • Studies project documents to ensure construction aligns with plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Reviews project budget with the Project Manager; understands project financials and how site actions impact the budget.
  • Assists in developing scopes of work for review and approval of the Project Manager.
  • Assists in locating and evaluating potential subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers and participates in pre-award meetings.
  • Assists in preparing reports (cost to complete, monthly billings, status reports).
  • Implements and executes project closeout and punch list procedures.
  • Manages overall coordination and procurement for the project team to ensure buyout and procurement stay on schedule after mobilization.
  • Assumes ownership of schedule to ensure closeout meets or exceeds customer expectations.
  • Other duties may be assigned.
Qualifications (WHO WE WANT / REQUIREMENTS)
  • Must have a minimum of 10+ years related construction experience.
  • Experience as the overall on-site lead for field activities, coordinating design, project, and schedule management.
  • Projects typically involve Manufacturing, Food & Beverage, Automotive, Distribution, and Mission Critical sectors with volumes often ranging from $10M to over $200M.
  • Demonstrated leadership to manage and direct on-site project teams to successful completions.
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural/engineering drawings, financial reports, and legal/contract documents.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, team-oriented, and aligned with Gray’s Core Values and a passion for collaboration and professional development.
  • Basic computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail); proficiency with Bluebeam, Microsoft Excel, and SharePoint.
