Position: Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional) Cougar Mountain- $2,500 Sign-on Bonus

Behavior Technician (Paraprofessional)

Join Gersh Autism Academy in Issaquah, WA for a 12‑month school program. Earn a $2,500 sign‑on bonus and competitive full‑time compensation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs) for students with autism.
  • Provide one‑on‑one and small‑group academic and behavioral support.
  • Teach communication, social interaction, and self‑management skills.
  • Prepare students for daily school activities and field trips.
  • Implement self‑regulation strategies from BIPs.
  • Collect and document data on student performance, behavior, and progress.
  • Collaborate with teaching and behavioral teams to create a structured environment.
  • Communicate effectively with staff regarding student progress.
  • Participate in training sessions with behavioral analysts.
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred.
  • Experience with children, especially those with autism, is a plus.
  • Passion for supporting students with autism and developmental disabilities.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Patient, empathetic, and flexible in various situations.
  • Willingness to complete RBT training and certification within a specified timeframe.
Location and Schedule
  • Issaquah, WA
    Monday–Friday 8:00 am–3:30 pm
    Occasional before/after school work
  • 12‑month school program
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to implement therapeutic holds to keep students safe.
  • Ability to remove oneself from potentially harmful situations and, when required, lift a child.
