This role supports the licensed nursing staff by providing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living for residents in our senior living community.

• State-approved geriatric nursing assistant training program completion (CNA License)
• Prior geriatric nurse aide experience preferred
• Registration with State registry required
• English communication and simple arithmetic skills
• Positive and professional work demeanor
• Minimum one (1) year experience in assisted living; memory care preferred

The Certified Nursing Assistant assists the licensed nursing staff by performing routine nursing duties and activities of daily living.

• Assist residents with dressing, grooming, eating, bathing, positioning, turning, toileting, and exercising
• Give treatments, perform tests, carry out procedures, and collect specimens as instructed
• Report and record observations and results of treatments, tests, procedures, and specimens
• Transfer, transport, and escort residents as needed
• Answer signal lights promptly
• Change bed linens, make bed, and keep rooms clean and orderly
• Follow resident care plans
• Maintain safe and sanitary workstations and equipment
• Encourage independence, attendance at activities, restorative programs, and rehabilitation
• Attend in-service training and education sessions, as assigned
• Perform specific work duties and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
• Other duties as assigned

Frequent standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and squatting. May be exposed to blood and body fluids which may contain HIV and/or HBV. Must be able to transport residents via wheelchair, Geri chair, or shower chair, pushing up to 150 pounds unassisted. Must be able to transfer, lift, turn, and position a resident weighing over 125 pounds. Must be able to stoop, bend, stretch, squat, stand, and walk for up to 90% of the workday.

May be subjected to offensive odors and/or combative behavior. Must be able to reach up to a level of six feet. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds frequently and 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to push a dietary cart up to 40 pounds unassisted.
