Pet Smart's Pets Hotel Experience Lead (Hotel Supervisor) provides exceptional service to pet parents and the pets in our care while upholding the company’s vision, mission, values, and strategy. This role ensures a welcoming and safe environment, proper healthcare, and cleanliness. Responsibilities include overseeing the Pets Hotel operations, opening and/or closing the store, supervising associates, and maintaining a safe, organized environment.
EssentialResponsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
People Leadership- Facilitates associate experience, supports development, training, onboarding, mentoring, coaching, and performance reviews.
- Delegates and validates daily tasks.
- Leads and directs associates as acting leader on duty.
- Addresses and manages associate complaints and grievances.
- Recognizes and celebrates associates to boost engagement.
- Ensures excellent pet parent experience and responds to concerns.
- Maintains pet healthcare and cleanliness standards.
- Administers medication as directed by pet parents or vets.
- Reports and manages sick or injured pets.
- Handles check-in/check-out processes accurately.
- Manages reservations and ensures compliance with policies.
- Performs safety reporting and daily safety walks.
- Participates in store opening/closing procedures.
- Maintains cleanliness and coordinates hotel events and promotions.
- Sells merchandise and services.
- Ensures policy compliance and a safe environment for all.
- Supports equipment maintenance and other departmental duties as needed.
- 2+ years retail supervisory experience in a customer-focused environment.
- Leadership experience preferred.
- Full-time availability, flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Proficiency in computer applications.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to react under pressure and maintain composure.
- No direct reports, but supports and guides associates.
- Provides performance feedback to supervisor.
- Acts as store leader when necessary, supervising staff and tasks.
- Requires standing, walking, climbing, handling objects, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, talking, hearing, and vision abilities.
- Must lift/move up to 50 pounds frequently; team lifts over 100 pounds occasionally.
- Exposure to moving parts, pet hair, and moderate noise; handling live animals is common.
