Overview
The Assistant Nurse Manager (ANM) is a professional Registered Nurse reporting to the unit director/manager who utilizes the nursing process to manage clinical and operational activities within the assigned shift. The ANM supports the director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating services of the unit and provides managerial presence for all shifts. The ANM manages clinical and non-clinical caregivers and provides input to the director/manager for evaluation related to performance.
Duties include compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements; implementing and monitoring compliance to policies, processes and clinical priorities; coaching, mentoring and collaborating to deliver quality health care to patients.
- Support the unit director/manager in planning, organizing, directing, and evaluating unit services.
- Provide managerial presence for all shifts and oversee clinical and non-clinical caregivers.
- Ensure compliance with professional nursing standards and regulatory requirements.
- Implement and monitor adherence to policies, processes and clinical priorities.
- Coach, mentor and collaborate with staff to deliver quality patient care.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (BSN).
- Registered Nurse license in Washington upon hire.
- National Provider BLS – American Heart Association upon hire.
- Recent clinical experience in an acute care hospital.
- Charge Nurse/Relief Charge Nurse experience.
- Leadership experience.
- Shared Governance experience.
