Role Summary
St Louis School – Archinto is seeking a talented and committed Biology Teacher to join the Science Department from August 2026. The successful candidate will teach Biology to our IB Diploma Programme students, and contribute to the continued development of a high‑performing Science faculty. This is an excellent opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who is passionate about science education, inquiry‑based learning, and supporting students in achieving excellent academic outcomes within an international school environment.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high‑quality Biology teaching aligned with IGCSE and IB Diploma Programme requirements
Prepare students effectively for internal and external assessments
Foster curiosity, critical thinking and scientific inquiry through engaging lessons
Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental development
Use assessment data to monitor progress and support student achievement
Support students for whom English is an additional language
Participate fully in school life, including meetings, professional development and co‑curricular activities
Uphold and promote the IB Learner Profile and Inspired Education ethos
The Ideal Candidate
Essential
Legal right to live and work in Italy or an EU passport
Degree in Biology or a closely related scientific discipline
Recognised teaching qualification
Minimum of 2 years’ teaching experience at secondary level
Experience teaching Biology to IGCSE and/or IB Diploma Programme students
Strong classroom management and communication skills
Commitment to inclusive, student‑centred learning
Preferred
Experience in an international or multicultural school setting
Proven success delivering IB DP Biology
Ability to contribute to broader science or interdisciplinary initiatives
