Location: Turbigo
Role Summary
We are seeking an outstanding teacher of Science to deliver the Middle school science programme at our Caviglia campus in the south of Milan. For the right candidate there is also the possibility of the role of through school science coordinator.
Applicants must be willing to be active, positive, flexible participants in a hard‑working team of teachers. There is scope for a middle leadership position of responsibility for suitably qualified candidates.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and develop Middle School Science teaching and learning.
Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that maximise student progress and achievement.
Monitor attainment through effective assessment and targeted intervention.
Oversee laboratory operations, health and safety, and departmental resources.
Maintain departmental policies, documentation and risk assessments.
Contribute to curriculum development and whole‑school improvement initiatives.
Engage in ongoing professional learning and collaborative departmental practice.
Monitor, record and report student progress in line with school policies.
Promote Science through extracurricular activities, trips, competitions and events.
Represent the department and school positively within the wider community.
Undertake other reasonable duties as directed by the Principal or Senior Deputy.
Hold an EU passport or valid Italian work permit (permesso di soggiorno).
Ideal Candidate Will Have
Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Education (or PGCE / equivalent)
Established teaching experience in a range of educational settings
Genuine interest in developing a best‑in‑class science programme and the interpersonal and leadership skills to implement this
High professional standards and a dedication to excellence across all aspects of school life
Confident, articulate communication skills
A positive and flexible approach to school life
Resilience and determination
Experience of and willingness to engage in quality assurance processes for continuous improvement
Some ability to speak Italian is desirable although not essential
Enjoyment and genuine interest in working with and learning from students aged 11 - 14
