We ProfessionLX is seeking a dedicated Protestant Coordinator of Religious Education to support the Command Religious Program at Naval Air Station Sigonella, Italy. In this role, you will lead the day-to-day administration of the Protestant Religious Education Program, helping military children, youth, and families grow in their faith through engaging educational and ministry programs.
Working closely with the Installation Chaplain, you will coordinate religious education activities, develop ministry programs, recruit and mentor volunteers, and foster a welcoming environment that strengthens the Protestant faith community.
WHAT YOU WILL DO You’ll oversee Protestant religious education from preschool through high school, coordinate children’s and youth ministries, organize seasonal programs such as Vacation Bible School and holiday events, recruit and support volunteer teachers, maintain ministry records and schedules, and ensure all programs operate in accordance with Command Religious Program requirements. You’ll also help manage classrooms, educational resources, and ministry communications while serving as a trusted partner to the Chaplain in supporting the spiritual needs of the installation community.

Requirements WHAT YOU WILL BRING We’re looking for a mature Christian leader with a bachelor’s degree and at least four years of experience leading Protestant religious education or ministry programs. You should have demonstrated success developing volunteers, coordinating children’s and youth ministries, communicating effectively in English, and working independently while building strong relationships within a faith community. Applicants must be able to successfully complete all required background screening for working with children and youth.
YOUR EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
Minimum of four (4) years of experience directing or leading Protestant religious education or faith formation programs.
Demonstrated knowledge of Christian scripture, Protestant doctrine, and contemporary Christian education principles and curriculum.
Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
Fluent in spoken and written English.
Must be able to successfully complete all required criminal background checks and child/youth screening requirements before working with minors.
