About the Role
The role of Junior Mathematician is onsite (Parma) and suitable for recent graduates or candidates with a strong technical background in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, or Computer Engineering.
As a Junior Mathematician, you will work on the mathematical analysis and evaluation of online casino games, with a particular focus on statistical analysis, numerical simulations, and source code assessment. You will work closely with experienced mathematicians and gradually develop the technical skills required to independently perform mathematical evaluations.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse and estimate the statistical and analytical properties of slot games using exact mathematical calculations and Monte Carlo simulations.
Perform mathematical and statistical analyses of different types of casino games.
Review and evaluate the correctness and soundness of customers' source code, working with code written in different programming languages.
Identify and investigate mathematical or implementation-related issues in game logic and calculations.
Perform simulations and analyse their results to verify expected game behaviour and mathematical parameters.
Complete testing checklists and accurately document the results of mathematical evaluations.
Prepare clear and comprehensive mathematical reports based on the analyses performed.
Use Git Lab and Visual Studio Code (VS Code) as the main tools for source code management, development, collaboration, and day-to-day technical activities.
Work closely with supervisors and colleagues to investigate technical issues and continuously improve your knowledge and skills.
Communicate with customers when clarification or additional technical information is required.
Requirements
Degree in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
Experience with at least one programming language; C++ is preferred.
Basic knowledge of Monte Carlo methods and numerical simulation techniques.
Good English written and spoken (B2 level or higher).
Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability and willingness to learn under the guidance of a supervisor and to progressively work independently.
Ability and willingness to learn the fundamentals of different programming languages.
Ability and willingness to work effectively in a team and communicate with customers.
