29 is supporting a large-scale energy project in Italy. The work relates to a major gas development that includes offshore wells, subsea infrastructure, and upgrades to an onshore processing facility supporting long-term gas export operations. The scope covers new field development phases, flowlines, tie-ins, and reliability improvements across both offshore and onshore assets.
The Subsea Structure Engineer is responsible for engineering design, verification, installation support, and integrity assurance of subsea structures for shallow-water offshore developments. Typical structures include manifolds, PLETs, PLEMs, jumpers, tie-in frames, pipeline supports, and foundations.
Engineering Design and Analysis
Perform structural strength, global and local analysis, and fatigue assessments.
Evaluate hydrodynamic loading and soil–structure interaction.
Review FE models using ANSYS, Abaqus, SACS, and Orca Flex.
Ensure all work complies with DNV, API 17D, API RP 2A, and ISO 13628 requirements.
Structural Layout and Deliverables
Develop GA drawings, structural layouts, foundations, and mudmats.
Review protection measures such as mattresses and rock placement.
Prepare interface drawings for pipeline, controls, and umbilical systems.
Installation Engineering Support
Provide input for lifting design, rigging, and handling operations.
Review procedures for lowering, positioning, and tie-in activities.
Support offshore campaigns covering load-out, transport, and installation.
Interface and Coordination
Work closely with pipeline, controls, umbilical, and geotechnical teams.
Support fabrication yard activities including welding, NDT, and coatings.
Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, constructability reviews, and model reviews.
Material and Fabrication Support
Review welding procedures, NDT plans, coatings, and fabrication tolerances.
Support FAT and SIT for structural components.
Integrity and Operational Support
Contribute to in-service integrity assessments.
Review ROV and diver inspection reports and as-built documentation.
Update structural models for life-of-field evaluations.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Civil or Structural Engineering, or Naval Architecture.
Master’s degree in Offshore, Structural, or Ocean Engineering (preferred).
Five to twelve years of subsea or offshore structural engineering experience.
Proficiency with ANSYS, Abaqus, SACS, or Orca Flex.
Strong knowledge of API, DNV, and ISO standards.
Offshore experience in installation, inspection, or FAT/SIT activities (preferred).
Strong communication and problem-solving skills with effective interface capability.
