Lead Fire Engineer

Location: Cusano

Experteer Overview In this role you lead fire protection strategy and design for technically demanding, mission‑critical projects in Milan. You collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and act as project lead interfacing with client teams. You will develop fire safety calculations, from simple checks to CFD/FEM modelling, and oversee statutory responsibilities. You’ll help grow Arup’s Fire Engineering business while delivering high-quality, sustainable solutions.

Retribuzione / Benefits Lead design and delivery of fire strategy for complex projects with multidisciplinary teams and fire statutory subconsultants

Coordinate Fire Protection systems design with internal and external teams

Act as project lead, managing services and client interface

Develop fire safety calculations from simplified methods to CFD/FEM and people‑movement modelling

Engage with clients from feasibility to completion to align design ambitions

Review and audit fire safety in buildings and existing infrastructure

Oversee execution of statutory roles by subconsultants

Contribute to business development via client meetings, bid documentation, and team development

Share knowledge across the team to maintain high service quality

ResponsabilitàChartered Engineer status with proven track record on mission critical facilities

Bachelor in Architectural, Mechanical Engineering, Building Engineering or similar;
Master’s in Fire Safety Engineering or similar

Experience in fire safety and/or fire protection engineering

High level of English and Italian (C1)
Knowledge of fire safety standards (BS, NFPA, FM Global, Italian codes)
