Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Experteer Overview  In this role you will lead geotechnical design for complex building and infrastructure projects, with global reach across Italy, Europe, and the UK. You will collaborate with clients and multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and mentor junior staff. The position emphasizes innovative, digital approaches and knowledge sharing within Arup’s geotechnical community. You will contribute to sustainable, resilient projects that shape communities and support Arup’s mission.
Retribuzione / Benefits   Lead and deliver geotechnical design packages for complex projects (Italy and internationally)
Collaborate with clients, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams to create integrated solutions
Plan and manage geotechnical investigations (fieldwork, lab tests, data interpretation, ground modelling)
Perform advanced geotechnical and numerical analyses; produce calculations, drawings, specs, and reports
Manage work packages across projects and proposals ensuring quality and timely delivery
Support, mentor, and develop junior colleagues; foster collaborative culture
Contribute to technical excellence, digital innovation, and knowledge sharing within Arup's geotechnical community
Responsabilità   Master's in Geotechnical Engineering or equivalent
5-10 years' geotechnical design experience on medium to large-scale projects
Strong experience in geotechnical and numerical analysis using industry-standard software
Solid engineering judgement with excellent planning, organisational, and time-management skills
Interest in digital engineering and BIM; 3D modelling or GIS is an advantage
Proven ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary teams
Fluency in Italian and English
