Position: Piping Designer (F/M/D)

Experteer Overview  As a Piping Designer at Jacobs in Italy, you will design complex piping systems for pharmaceutical and life‑science projects, ensuring compliance with ASME/API codes and seamless integration with other disciplines. You work with engineers and designers to develop isometrics, P&IDs, and 3D models, while managing routing, costs, and schedule adherence. You’ll apply best practices in pipe design and support design to optimize performance and safety.

This role offers a chance to influence fabrication, installation readiness, and project delivery within a collaborative, hybrid‑work environment.
Retribuzione / Benefits   Design complex piping systems and routes considering accessibility, installation, and safety requirements
Interpret and develop engineering drawings, isometrics, P&IDs, and other technical documents
Apply pipe design, support design, stress analysis, and MTO controls with code compliance (ASME, API, ANSI)
Identify and resolve clashes between piping and other systems (HVAC, electrical, Fire Protection)
Collaborate with designers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure proper integration across disciplines
Assist in cost estimation and budgeting for piping projects
Support fabrication and installation processes and ensure QA/QC of piping systems
Maintain familiarity with latest piping design technologies and practices
Responsabilità   Minimum 10 years of experience as a Piping Designer
Knowledge of engineering practices relevant to the pharmaceutical market
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to think creatively to add value and optimize designs
Good presentation, time management, and troubleshooting skills
Continuous improvement mindset for productivity, quality, and efficiency
Experience creating and managing Pipe specs using AutoCAD Plant 3D Spec Editor (plus)
Ability to set up and maintain projects in AutoCAD Plant 3D (plus)
Proficiency in Autodesk P3D for modeling piping systems and extracting construction documents
Fluency in English and very good knowledge of Italian (B2)
Willingness to travel for short periods
Experience in piping for industrial plants (chemical, biotech, pharmaceutical) (plus)

Experience with Navisworks and Bluebeam (plus)
Practical field experience (plus)
