Electrical Project Engineer – Summary

Purpose:

Support the successful delivery of electrical engineering projects by coordinating design, procurement, installation, and commissioning activities. Work closely with project teams, contractors, and suppliers to ensure engineering deliverables are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
Support the Senior/Lead Engineer with day-to-day engineering delivery.
Coordinate with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure smooth project execution.
Manage engineering documentation, trackers, equipment schedules, and design responsibility matrices.
Prepare RFQs, review technical quotations, and manage supplier technical submittals.
Review quality plans, ITPs, test packs, FATs, SATs, and support commissioning activities.
Lead technical submittals, RFIs, CDEs, and maintain accurate red-line drawings and project documentation.
Review BIM models, schematics, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements.
Monitor technical risks, maintain risk registers, and escalate issues where necessary.
Support commercial activities by assessing the engineering impact of cost, variations, and value engineering.
Produce regular progress reports and maintain effective communication across project teams.
Mentor graduate engineers and contribute to continuous professional development.
Requirements
Degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering.
Experience delivering electrical engineering projects within sectors such as data centres, pharmaceutical, commercial, industrial, or similar environments.
Strong understanding of electrical design, installation, commissioning, and project delivery.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings, schematics, BIM models, and technical specifications.
Knowledge of procurement processes, quality management, and health & safety requirements.
Strong organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Commercial awareness with the ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced project environment. xpavfwm
