Job Overview The Finished Goods Planner manages production scheduling and capacity planning to ensure the efficient and timely manufacturing of cans and ends. Responsible for aligning demand requirements with production capabilities, the role optimizes resource utilization, inventory levels, and service performance. The position collaborates closely with manufacturing, procurement, sales teams and the warehouse keepers, participating in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance planning accuracy, flexibility and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities Production Scheduling and Execution
Develop and maintain detailed short-term production schedules to ensure optimal sequencing and efficient use of production resources.
Monitor limited warehouse capacity and maximise rotation index of goods.
Manage work orders (raising, scheduling, closing).
Align daily and weekly production plans with demand priorities, capacity constraints and material availability.
Monitor schedule adherence and proactively adjust plans in response to changes in demand, disruptions or operational constraints.
Collaborate closely with production, maintenance and quality teams to ensure smooth execution of the production schedule.
Identify bottlenecks and support actions to improve line efficiency, throughput and overall responsiveness.
Arrange for transportation to the sister plant in case of interco flows.
Materials and Inventory Coordination
Check supply of components and lacquered/printed sheets by coordinating closely with MPC scheduler, sister plants or suppliers.
Monitor stock levels for critical materials and proactively raise potential shortages impacting production.
Support inventory optimisation by balancing production needs with stock levels, minimising excess and obsolescence.
Planning Support and Continuous Improvement
Maintain accuracy of planning data in ERP systems (lead times, production versions, scheduling parameters).
Support the Supply Chain Manager and the team in improving scheduling processes, tools and data accuracy.
Contribute to the stabilisation and standardisation of production scheduling routines and best practices.
Track and report key scheduling KPIs (schedule adherence, service level, production efficiency).
Qualifications University degree – ideally Industrial Engineering or equivalent, but other degrees may be considered based on the profile.
0–3 years of experience in supply chain (preferably in the manufacturing sector).
Advanced use of MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Knowledge of ERP logics – experience with Oracle ERP is a plus.
Fluency in Italian and English; other European languages are a plus.
Specialized Skills Analytical thinking and data‑driven mindset.
Problem‑solving and ability to manage priorities in a dynamic environment.
Proactive attitude and ability to anticipate issues.
Resilience and ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work cross‑functionally (e.g. with production, procurement and logistics teams).
