Job Description & How to Apply Below
Location: Via Milano
Ingenn is the Head Hunting company solely focused on the search and selection of technical profiles and engineers.
The partner
We are looking for an Inorganic Chemistry Expert to be hired on a permanent contract with one of our clients, an innovative Start-Up in the chemical-engineering sector. Our client specializes in renewable energy and, in particular, in the research, development and prototyping of new green batteries and long-duration energy storage systems.
The role
Develop and optimize electrolyte formulations to improve stability, efficiency, and lifetime.
Investigate crossover, imbalance drivers, and mitigation strategies (operational and hardware-related).
Define electrolyte operating windows (concentration, temperature, pH/alkalinity, impurity tolerance).
Lead analytical characterization (e.g., titration, UV-Vis/Raman/FTIR where applicable, ICP/IC support, viscosity/conductivity).
Evaluate materials compatibility (membranes, electrodes, seals, wetted parts) and support qualification.
Create electrolyte QC procedures and acceptance criteria for pilot/manufacturing readiness.
Plan and execute structured experiments and report results in a decision-oriented way.
Support scale-up activities (mixing, handling, storage, safety procedures).
Draft procedures, reports and technical documentation in general.
Mandatory skills
Master's degree or PhD in chemistry/chemical inorganic engineering or equivalent qualification.
Previous experience of at least 2 years in the development of electrolyte formulations and/or research projects in the electrochemical field, preferably also with focus on chemical analysis, analytical characterization and materials compatibility in redox flow batteries and/or alkaline systems.
A proven ability to conduct structured laboratory experiments with high reproducibility, including skills in analytical techniques (titration, spectroscopy, conductivity/viscosity) and rigorous technical documentation is a mandatory requirement.
Excellent level of English (B2 minimum).
The knowledge of Italian language level C1 is ideal but not mandatory.
