The successful candidate for this position will be a 1099 contractor with Music Ministry International and be responsible for the following:

Catholic Religious Education (RE) Coordinator
Scope of Responsibilities

Inside Scope:

Plan, coordinate, and support religious needs in a pluralistic environment.
The RE Coordinator position will encompass general programming from the Lead Faith Group Chaplain or designee coordination. Specific religious education programming may include Children’s Liturgy of the Word, Sacramental preparation for First Reconciliation, First Holy Communion, the Confirmation program for the youth, Rite of Christian Initiation for Children (RCIC), Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults (RCIA), and other rites, per the creeds of each chaplain endorsement.

Outside Scope:

A non‑personal services contract to support chapel religious education services. The Government shall not exercise any supervision or control over the contract service providers performing the services herein. Such providers shall be accountable solely to the Contractor, who is responsible to the Government.

Education and Experience

All RE coordinators are able to work unsupervised in a fluid, sometimes stressful environment with a diverse group of people, including volunteers, chapel staff, and members of other faith communities, while maintaining healthy interpersonal relationships.
Fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English.
Professional:
Ability to efficiently organize and manage diverse program elements.
Budget:
Understanding of basic planning, development, and execution of a budget.
Compliance with all guidelines of the Archdiocese for the Military Services (AMS), as detailed at https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below)..
Completion of and maintenance of the Basic Minimum Certification for catechists, valid for three years and renewable.
Obtaining AMS certification within 180 days of employment.

General Responsibilities

Ensure reliable transportation and adherence to gate pass entry rules.
Maintain professional standards of conduct, dress, appearance, and grooming.
Be punctual for appointments, services, and rehearsals; arrive at the sanctuary or designated location 15 minutes before each event to unlock the facility.
Remain present for the entire contracted service or rehearsal unless previously negotiated.
Attend weekly Protestant or Catholic staff meetings and large chapel staff meetings once a month.
Recruit and advertise volunteers to promote the Chapel.
Monitor for fraud, waste, and abuse of DoD facilities and report any damage to the Facility Manager to prevent safety mishaps.
Do not duplicate keys issued by the government and immediately report lost keys.
Submit an application for a background check per DoDI 1402.5; complete three checks upon contract award: IRC, FBI Fingerprint Check, and Tier 1 Child Care Coverage Check. These checks are reviewed in the Chapel Background Checks Monitor and completed every five years.
Comply with all Italian, Federal, State, and Local Laws and applicable Air Force Instructions.

Specific Responsibilities

Meet regularly with the Chapel Staff, designated Chaplain, and Community Coordinator to review mission goals.
Attend and implement policies set by Chaplains, designated Chaplain, and Pastoral Advisory Council.
Organize, plan, and schedule religious services, including Vacation Bible School (VBS).
Conduct orientation and training workshops throughout the year for volunteers, participants, and families.
Prepare an annual comprehensive RE program plan no later than July 1 each year, including a calendar of events and curriculum. Submit to the Lead Faith Group Chaplain by the end of the third fiscal quarter (mid‑May to June).
Provide funding inputs to the Lead Faith Group Chaplain and/or appropriate forms for the Cost Center Manager, Approving Official, or CTOF Account Manager.
Prepare publicity materials: bulletin and pulpit announcements, social media posts, worship aids, program calendars, flyers, permission slips, etc.
