Consultant, Software Architect, Software Development

In this role you will architect and deliver end-to‑end, custom automation solutions on Appian’s low-code platform, partnering with client executives to enable enterprise‑grade orchestration. You’ll work at the crossroads of business strategy and technical execution, driving platform adoption and measurable business impact for large commercial clients. The position sits within Appian’s high‑performance Customer Success team, focused on rapid, high‑quality outcomes.

You’ll collaborate with cross‑functional teams to solve complex workflow problems and scale integrations, with hands‑on engineering and training responsibilities.

Architect, implement, and deploy custom automation solutions across the project lifecycle using Appian’s low‑code platform
Build data connections and scalable APIs to integrate external enterprise systems via REST, SOAP, and JDBC
Design and optimize relational data models and SQL queries in production
Lead Agile delivery within cross‑functional teams (sprints, stand‑ups, pair programming) to rapidly deliver features
Collaborate with client technical teams and business stakeholders to drive platform adoption and train users
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, Mathematics, or related technical field
1+ years of hands‑on software development or technical implementation consulting
Strong OO programming, database design, and SQL skills (complex queries, joins, views)
Experience translating client business processes into functional and technical requirements
Willingness to travel up to 20% for on‑site engagements
