LocationOnsite: 5 days/week in either Edina, MN, Itasca, IL or Norwalk, CT offices
Role OverviewSenior Credit Analyst will review and process credit transaction applications with exposures between $1M–$5M, making decisions within assigned single signature authority and in compliance with Mitsubishi HC Capital credit policy. For transactions exceeding authority, recommend terms to senior credit management. Support documentation, funding, collateral valuation processes, and assist in onboarding and training new credit staff.
Key Responsibilities- Analyze and spread financial statements; apply scoring models and interpret outputs
- Underwrite credit transactions within assigned authority; recommend terms for larger exposures
- Prepare detailed credit memos aligned with MHCA underwriting criteria
- Collaborate with sales, legal, and operations teams to ensure accurate documentation
- Engage with vendors to clarify deal details and support sales submissions
- Provide mentorship to junior analysts and support training initiatives
- Maintain compliance with internal controls, SOX, and regulatory policies
- Ensure documentation reflects actual approval and commitment
- Support the application-only team as needed to maintain workflow efficiency
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in financial statement analysis and credit underwriting
- Proven ability to review, understand, and communicate financial statements, and utilize data to risk-rate transactions
- Experience in underwriting healthcare, IT, or franchise lending industries is a plus
- Prior credit authority of $1M+ (ideally up to $5M)
- Prior single signature approval authority within a risk finance investment environment
- Industry exposure in healthcare, IT, transportation, or construction preferred
- Strong analytical, decision-making, and communication skills
- Collections background is a plus
- Ability to work independently and make decisions within company policy
💰 COMPENSATION: $76,000 – $89,000; based on experience. Eligible for a year‑end bonus.
