Overview

This position will be responsible for the day-to-day operations as it pertains to the Billing Team. Billing Supervisor will report to the Billing Manager for direction and assist in any and all responsibilities that are delegated accordingly.

Responsibilities
  • Research and correct rating and billing discrepancies
  • Researches, responds, and resolves complex billing exceptions brought forth by junior specialists and internal customers (e.g. Account Managers, Shop Care Associates, Collections Representatives).
  • Train and provide continuous feedback for new hires and current team. Provide guidance and coaching to Billing Personnel
  • Prepares billing work to be accomplished by gathering and sorting documents and information.
  • Ensure the billing team is completing all billing tasks daily
  • Guides billing actions by researching, developing, writing, and updating billing policies, procedures, methods, and guidelines.
  • Serves as a knowledgeable, responsive point of contact and advocate for customers. Develops and maintains solid working relationships and communicates with external customers and internal departments, including Key Account Managers, Data Acquisition, Field Operations, Marketing, Pricing, Finance, Cash Processing, Communications, Legal, Regulatory, and Accounting. Makes recommendations to management to improve customer satisfaction.
  • Proactively identifies and escalates process and/or procedure problems within the department, including but not limited to: discrepancies between system rules and pricing guidelines, unusual trends or changes with reject volumes, and billing systems integration issues. Recommends solutions to management.
  • Assist in the development of customer SOPs required to effectively manage each customers' business
  • Participates in new hire training plans and schedules. Coordinates onboarding for billing specialists relevant to their role ensuring employee onboarding success. Mentors and trains new hires on system functionality and assigned client guidelines.
  • Assists in updating documentation related to client guidelines and system changes. Trains other specialists to perform new procedures or work in new systems.
  • Manage daily workflow and delegate responsibilities when employees are out of office, ultimately stepping in and providing support as needed
  • Responsible for accurately billing and supporting daily billing functions, including rate comparison, tariff and contract interpretation, and proper rate application.
  • Researches complex billing issues and follows through to resolution. Reviews and analyzes system requests to change electric/gas rates for utility customers.
  • Assists with bill review reporting functions (internal and external reports)
  • May travel to other offices to assist with training
  • Effectively complete annual performance reviews of team members and set effective goals that relate to the responsibilities of the job and support professional development
  • Performs other duties as assigned
  • Complies with all policies and standards
  • The wage range for this position is $50,430.00-$ and may vary based on geography as well as relative knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience
