Position Overview:
Responsible for the safe, quality, and proficient operation and understanding of machinery, equipment, and processes in the Production Department, including palletizers, wrapping machines, strappers, box machines, tumble packing, and hand packing. Operation of molding equipment involves performing short-cycle, repetitive, and control functions in set patterns to attain high-quality production output.
- Follow all established safety and quality policies and procedures and guidelines as outlined in the Employee Handbook and as trained during safety-related programs. Identify hazards and communicate safety issues to coworkers and managers. Properly use all personal protective equipment.
- Know and practice safe startup and shutdown procedures for each machine.
- Perform quality assurance tests using appropriate measuring devices and basic math skills, enter resultant data into the computer system, and have authority to stop production due to quality issues.
- Make necessary machine adjustments to maintain consistent operation and product quality to meet customer specifications (e.g., bottle height, volumetrics, top-load, visual defects, section weights, finish dimensions).
- Maintain standard production objectives through proper machine operation and accurate production recording.
- Communicate changes in the production schedule to operators and palletizers (e.g., countdown and color changes).
- Participate in Quality training and GMP meetings to aid continuous improvement of plant operations.
- Maintain housekeeping of all assigned areas and apply GMP to meet plant goals.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by the Shift Supervisor and/or Production management.
- Requires high school diploma or equivalent; some post-secondary education (technical or vocational) preferred.
- 1 to 3 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
- Ability to work a 12-hour shift.
- Forklift driver experience preferred.
- Ability to recognize and understand numbers and enter information into an online database accurately; strong mathematical ability is essential.
- Ability to visually distinguish fine variations in color and other visual defects.
- Good hand/eye coordination to operate equipment.
- Ability to make priority decisions and independent judgments based on the situation.
- Ability to use a computer and related software effectively.
- Ability to work all shifts and overtime as required.
Ability to move/lift/push/pull/stand on a continual basis. Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching. Able to climb stairs/ladders up to 15 feet high. This is a physically demanding job as outlined by the U.S. Department of Labor.

PayMachine Operator:
The starting rate of pay for this position is $20.70.
